We operate out of many different venues. These include village halls and other community venues, such as swimming pools and bowling alleys. We hire the right venue to suit the activities on offer. This allows us to be flexible about group sizes and the things we can do.
We offer swimming sessions, walking groups, yoga and gentle exercise throughout the week. Each tailored to the client’s individual needs whatever their disability.
We support a wide variety of visual arts, including photography, filmmaking, screen printing, painting and much more. We aim to work to as high a standard as possible and enjoy exhibiting within the local community.
Alongside art we also offer a number of craft activities, such as felt making, printmaking, card making and plaster casting.
In addition to our Art group and our Craft groups, we also run a small photography group. The group like to visit places of interest in the local area and capture what they see.
With a variety of resources, we can cater for all levels of competency. We encourage the use of the internet to raise cultural awareness, practise typing skills and help to maintain basic computer literacy using day to day software.
Within our cooking group, we encompass a whole range of skills from budgeting, shopping, preparing, health and safety, infection control and food safety, all at a level of understanding that each individual is capable of maintaining.
We are more than happy to share our broad range of experience with our clients, families and carers and will often offer to advocate on their behalf should the situation arise.
We encourage socialisation in all its forms. Groups are tailored to individual needs, such as shopping, day trips, swimming, attending functions and visiting our local cafes and garden centres.
We are extremely keen on supporting people to communicate as effectively as possible and run a number of groups centred around good communication and signing. We design and make our own games and activities, which are tailored to prompt good interaction and communication between members of the groups.
We at The Yume Project recognise that caring full time is a huge responsibility and we can offer you respite during the day. Giving you the assurance that the person you care for is in a safe environment.
We are also able to support carers and individuals to get the advice they need in all areas of their lives. We are always happy to advocate for our users and to help them in any way we can.
We are able to offer ASDAN or Laser certification to support some of the independent living skills our groups are working towards.
